| An 11 yrs old boy studying in 6th std reported with asthmatic episodes twice a month. Due to frequent allopathic medication there was lack of appetite and failure to gain weight. Once in 6 months he would get loose-motions with pain in abdomen. |

| The asthmatic episodes began with sneezing, cold and cough. It precipitated after eating ice-cream, cold things, change in weather, chocolates. It increased if he got wet or there was exam stress. Complaints were accompanied by weakness, thirst for water and sometimes fever. |

| Though all his family members were stout he was lean, thin. He loved to eat ice-creams and cold drinks and milk and chocolates. His appetite was good and he had scanty perspiration. During childhood he had problem of constipation and profuse perspiration. |

| The boy comes from a middle class family of four. He has a sister elder to him. They have recently shifted from Nashik to Mumbai. Father is very strict disciplinarian and perfectionist. He often uses the cane as patient is reluctant to study. |

| The mother too is strict and asks to study always. She is very anxious about his studies and how he will perform in exams. She also stressed the need to hit children in order to keep them disciplined. Also all her relatives / friends resort to canning children if they do not study. |

| Patient is an early riser. He is up by 6 'O'clock often earlier and likes to read books before he readies himself for school. Comes from school at 4 - 4.30 pm. He watches TV for sometime and then goes to play from 6-7 pm. If he is late his father hits him. Then he sits to study though his attention wavers. He finishes studying, has dinner and goes to sleep. In school teachers say his performance can improve. |

| In general if they go to anybody’s house he is well mannered and well behaved. He has never brought home any complaints. He would stand 1st in class 2-3 yrs back. After that though it is not first it's still good. |

| His mother says that he often says that she does not love him and makes her kiss him again and again. Mother is upset that if he is unable to solve the paper he comes home unreported and says that paper is finished. Her daughter will cry—at the least. |

| Patient is very sentimental he hates people throwing stone at stray dogs often tells mummy whether they can bring it home. He is scared but he watches horror shows. |
